1. Information Collection
We collect personal information when you book an appointment through OwnYourChair, including your name, phone number, and email address (optional). This information is collected to facilitate appointment bookings and, for opted-in users, to send automated appointment reminders and rebooking messages via SMS through Rebook Engine.
2. Use of Information
Your information is used to:
- Facilitate bookings between you and your selected service provider
- Send automated SMS appointment confirmations (via Rebook Engine)
- Send automated SMS appointment reminders (via Rebook Engine)
- Send rebooking messages after your visit (via Rebook Engine)
3. SMS Messaging Terms
Program Name: Rebook Engine Appointment Reminders
By checking the SMS consent checkbox during the booking process on OwnYourChair, you agree to receive automated appointment-related text messages from your service provider via Rebook Engine. These messages may include:
- Appointment confirmation messages
- Appointment reminder messages (24 hours and 2 hours before your appointment)
- Rebooking messages after your visit
- Waitlist fill notifications
Message frequency varies based on your appointment activity; up to 16 messages per month including appointment confirmations, reminders, rebooking follow-ups, and waitlist fill notifications.
Message and data rates may apply.
To opt out: Reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation and no further messages.
For help: Reply HELP to any message or contact support@rebookengine.net.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Consent is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
When you opt in to receive SMS messages, we store your phone number, consent status, consent timestamp, consent IP address, and the specific service provider account the consent applies to. These records are retained for compliance verification.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Disclosure
No mobile information, including opt-in data and consent, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use the following service providers solely to operate our platform:
- Stripe: Payment processing
- Twilio: SMS delivery
- Google (optional): Google Calendar API, used only when a service provider chooses to connect their Google Calendar (see Section 5 below)
These providers only use your information to perform services requested by Rebook Engine.
5. Google Calendar Integration
Service providers (barbers) who choose to connect their Google Calendar to OwnYourChair grant us limited access to their Google account data to enable two-way calendar synchronization. This section describes what we access, how we use it, and how we protect it. If you do not connect a Google account, none of this section applies to you.
Information We Access from Google
When you connect your Google Calendar via OAuth, we request the following Google API scopes and access only the data necessary to provide the calendar sync feature:
- Calendar events (read & write): Read your calendar events to identify busy periods and prevent double-booking on your OwnYourChair availability; write events to your calendar when clients book appointments through your OwnYourChair booking page.
- Calendar metadata: Read calendar names and IDs so you can select which calendar(s) to sync.
- OAuth profile basics: Your Google email address (to label the connection) and account ID (to maintain the connection across token refreshes).
We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Photos, or any other Google service.
How We Use Google User Data
Google user data is used exclusively to:
- Display your existing Google Calendar events as unavailable time slots on your OwnYourChair booking page
- Write new appointments booked through OwnYourChair to your selected Google Calendar
- Update or delete Google Calendar events when the corresponding OwnYourChair appointment is rescheduled, completed, cancelled, or marked as a no-show
- Refresh authentication tokens as needed to keep the connection active
How We Store Google User Data
OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and stored separately from other user data. Calendar event data accessed via the Google API is processed transiently to compute availability — we do not maintain a long-term mirror of your Google Calendar in our database beyond the OYC appointments we ourselves created.
Limited Use of Google User Data
OwnYourChair's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, we do not and will not:
- Use Google user data to serve advertisements
- Sell Google user data to any third party
- Transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the calendar sync feature, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to affected users
- Allow humans to read Google user data, except (a) with your explicit consent, (b) for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) for internal operations where the data has been aggregated and anonymized
Disconnecting Your Google Account
You may disconnect your Google Calendar from OwnYourChair at any time by visiting your account settings and selecting “Disconnect” on the Google Calendar integration card. Upon disconnection:
- We immediately revoke our OAuth tokens with Google
- We delete the stored access token, refresh token, and associated calendar IDs from our database
- Future OwnYourChair appointments will no longer sync to your Google Calendar
- Existing events we previously wrote to your calendar remain in place — you may delete them directly in Google Calendar
You may also revoke access at any time through your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Requesting Deletion of Google User Data
To request complete deletion of all data associated with your Google Calendar connection, contact support@rebookengine.net. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Opt-Out Rights
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any text message you receive
- Contacting us at support@rebookengine.net
After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation and no further messages.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. All data is stored securely with encryption at rest and in transit. Sensitive credentials such as OAuth refresh tokens are additionally encrypted at the application layer using AES-256.
